MY FAVORITE BANQUET LOCATION SHANGRI LA 39/F … (BY ACACIA)

After going to another wedding this weekend, I realize that my favorite location is still Island Shangri-la hotel 39/F (The Library is used as a cocktail and welcome area, and Atrium I and Atrium II banquet area sits around 10-14 tables in total).

1) Super nice view from 39/F (most other 5 star hotel banquet halls are close to ground)

2) Super high ceiling (around 4-5metres in both the Libary and Atrium)

3) Library renovation is so unique, cool and big, can comfortable stand 100 people

4) Atrium area forces couples to limit number of tables, much more and couples will have time to talk to all the guests

5) Privacy of the area (weddings at Marriot or Shang ballrooms always have lots strangers nearby!)

This week "TIME" announced their top 10 best and worst dressed celebrities for the 2013 year and some surprising results! Which one is your favorite and how horrible can it get?! I really love Jennifer Lawrence's pink ball gown, although its not really a custom made piece. This dress appeared in Christian Dior Haute Couture (SPRING 2013 line http://www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/slideshow/S2013CTR-CDIOR/#43 ). I still havent seen Hunger Games 2 =(

經濟壓力大焗住高齡生育

看了這報道也身同感受，因為看見有很多朋友已說不要BB，寧願留個錢退休都不想有這麼大壓力。。。

http://orientaldaily.on.cc/cnt/china_world/20131202/00180_002.html?pubdate=20131202 結婚擺酒耗25萬元… 儘管日本經濟長期不景氣，但結婚費用還是年年上升。單是舉辦結婚儀式和擺喜酒，平均費用已達三百三十多萬日圓（約二十五萬港元），還要加上廿二萬日圓（一萬六千多港元）的婚戒、四十三萬日圓（約三萬二千多港元）租婚紗費用和廿一萬日圓（一萬五千多港元）拍婚紗照。對於收入不穩定、工作沒保障的年輕人來說，這些費用實為沉重負擔。即使能夠結婚，日本人往往認為養育孩子，便要給他們非常優越的環境，在經濟條件未達到前，並不考慮生育。結果當他們擁有相當經濟能力時，可能已經是步向四十歲的年紀，導致高齡生育的情況，繼而衍生少子化問題。

有調查顯示，港人用於結婚的開支平均逾30萬元，比去年上升7%，連續5年錄得升幅。龐大結婚開支令新人感到壓力，超過七成因而與伴侶爭吵，更有四成人想不結婚。
生活易網站本年訪問逾2,000位準新人，發現本港新人籌備婚禮開支平均數再創歷年新高，結婚平均開支估算為302,590元，較去年增加7%。而過去5年結婚開支每年均平穩上升，平均開支由09年的226,352元，至今年大幅攀升34%。據政府統計署資料顯示，去年共有60,459對新人註冊結婚，推算今年香港整個結婚消費市場總值估計高達183億元。

蜜月旅行 $36,854 
婚紗攝影 $22,747 
婚紗禮服 $9,636

今年的人情市場價格指標有變化，高級酒樓已追上酒店價位。高級酒店、一般酒店及一般酒樓的人情中位數維持不變，分別為1,000元、800元及500元。高級酒樓的人情則每年增加，由2011年的600元加至2013年的800元。

CNN: how to cut wedding costs...

美國CNN說，平均婚禮費用大概美元28000，蠻貴！他們有幾個小Tips如何減低婚禮花費。雖然我們在香港，可是可以參考一下！

* Cut Down on Number of Guests - 盡量減客數目，不會再見的＂朋友＂，有需要請嗎？

* Think outside the Box for times - 可以的話選出比較便宜的時間，例如不要裡拜六，天。有些酒店十二／一月會比較貴！

* Compare options and be flexible - 現時有好多途徑去找discount，國外飛常流行酒席買賣，我們也有ESD這種網站.

* Stay in season for flowers & decorations - 不需要的話，不合時的花種就不要選！冬季就不要做室外ceremony 因為要花錢買熱飲或暖爐！

* Create more DIY such as invitations or save-the-dates - 近年流行DIY，一點不cheap。反而有空自己做請貼或小禮物，超級personal。不要忘記我們還有淘寶 :)

* Keep the Food Casual or themed - 說真的，多少來賓會介意你的套餐是8888或10888？近年也流行lunch reception或者比較casual...

昨天我陪朋友去看裙，她不知道為什麼帶老公。老公問為什麼沒必須買cocktail dress，只需要casual dress，老是要花時間去試？？？??

親愛的，很簡單。你們男人也為何這麼喜歡車子，喜歡跑車？我常常聽我朋友說她老公，她男朋友要去試車！你們不一定必須買，可是有機會，有時間，老是要試。。。好不好看！開的爽不爽！

Young Detective Dee (the movie)

這禮拜有空的話我要看狄仁傑之神都龍王。看了電影 trailer 和 poster 突然間想做一些 euro-oriental fusion 的晚裝。他們電影裡做形好像花了不小的心思！可能最近去了好幾次結婚晚會，看多了傳統西方晚裝。你看如果漂亮的新良或媽咪穿 Angelababy 這種 Asian favour gold lace dress, 應該滿不錯的！
